What would be the timeline of construction and delivery?

The start date will be determined by the DCO process and the notice to proceed from the Secretary of State. The Terminal, similar to T5, will take several years to construct but as it needs to be operational by the time the new runway is completed, will fall within the construction period of the runway – as will the major external works around the airfield.  The new runway is currently estimated to be completed around 2030 (done by Heathrow Airport Limited).  Our construction will be sequenced with Heathrow Airport Limited.

How would the new terminal be constructed?

The construction of Heathrow West will become part of the overall development of the Heathrow Airport expansion. The construction will be planned to seamlessly align with the Heathrow Airport Limited scheme for the construction of the new Northwest Runway. It is envisaged that we will work together closely with Heathrow Airport Limited to avoid overlaps and make the best use of resources and minimise disruption to both local communities and Heathrow Airport.

How will you minimise disruption for the community?

Heathrow West will work with the community to be a good neighbour, agreeing a Code of Construction Practice which would be mandated to contractors to minimise potential impacts on the community and environment.
